Amelia Jeffers has resigned as president of her family’s two auction houses, Garth’s in Delaware, Ohio, and Selkirk in St. Louis, Missouri. She stepped down for personal reasons. Jeff Jeffers remains as CEO and lead auctioneer for both businesses.
“My hope would be that I’m not gone from that industry permanently because I really do love it,” she said. “It’s hard for me to know what I love more, the stuff or the people because I’m a collector too. I really love the people in the industry and the collectors.”
She plans to focus on her family and on two businesses in which she was already involved: Street Sotheby’s International Realty, where she is a Realtor/auctioneer, and Sophisticated Living magazine, where she is editor-in-chief. Both companies are based in Columbus, Ohio.
“We are grateful for Amelia’s 20 years of service to Garth’s. Her legacy here is special. She is incredibly talented and will continue to thrive, growing the magazine and real estate business. And her time spent with our kids is a wonderful blessing and gift,” noted Jeff Jeffers. “Both teams at Garth’s and Selkirk are excited for the future, both auction houses are full steam ahead, and we continue to cheer Amelia’s success.”
